Engage

Do not just plan for your wedding. Prepare for your marriage.

Preparing for Long-Term Commitment

Whether you are newly engaged or seriously considering a long-term commitment, this stage often brings both excitement and uncertainty. Many couples begin to notice patterns in communication or conflict they want to understand before moving forward. This work is not about deciding whether your relationship is “good” or “bad,” but about understanding it more clearly.

What You May Be Experiencing

As you think about your future together—whether that includes a wedding, a commitment ceremony, or simply taking the next step—you may have noticed:

  • Uncertainty about long-term compatibility

  • Repeated conflict or miscommunication

  • Difficulty feeling heard or understood

  • Questions about shared values, expectations, or future goals

We begin with a structured, research-informed assessment to better understand your relationship dynamics. From there, we focus on building a strong foundation through:

  • Communication and conflict management skills

  • Exploring shared values and long-term expectations

  • Strengthening emotional connection

  • Clarifying areas of alignment and difference

For some couples, this process may also include elements of discernment—creating space to thoughtfully explore the relationship before making long-term commitments.

What We’ll Focus On

This is a structured, collaborative process designed to help you slow down and look at your relationship more intentionally.

Together, we will:

  • Take a deeper look at what matters most to each of you

  • Identify patterns that may create challenges over time

  • Practice tools in real time, not just talk about them

  • Build a shared understanding of how you want to move forward

By the end of this process, couples typically have greater clarity, stronger communication skills, and a clearer sense of what comes next.

For couples who prefer a more focused approach, this work can also be done as a half-day intensive to support faster progress.
